i have receive an email stating that my account has been used to purchase yearly music membership. how can i find out if this is true or from apple.

See View, change, or cancel your subscriptions - Apple Support to check if any new subscriptions show up.

If you did not purchase an Apple music subscription and one is listed, contact iTunes support for a refund and help. And most important, change your AppleID password immediately - If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support

I have been receiving phishing emails since last September. Sometimes they appear as yours seems to have - purchasing a music account that you did not purchase. Sometimes as an album or song that I didn't purchase. The first time I went in and changed my password. Now I just go in and check to see if there are any charges on my iTunes account that do not belong. If not, I ignore it. If so, I would contact the proper Apple department. I am receiving at least 2 of these every week. I am sending copies to the reportphising@apple.com site. Good luck!
