Iphone 6s Calendar not connecting to the internet

I am using a IPhone 6s version IOS 11.2.2.

My wife and I share Calendars with phones and computers. I am able to see my wifes calendar events on my phone and my computer. She cannot see my events on her calendar. My computer is also not seeing the events that I have put in on my phone.

When I open my calendar, on my phone, and click on the word "calendar" at the bottom, a page pops up with sharing and viewing options. Under the top box it states, " Unable to connect to the internet". My guess is that this is problem. There is nothing I can find that can change this.

Under settings>Icloud, it shows that I am sharing my Calendar through Icloud.

All of my other apps seems to working properly and connecting to the internet.

The linked article is requesting that we switch to using iCloud calendar as our default. That's not a solution. I use google calendar and it has been working with the iOS calendar app for years with no issue. About a week or so ago I realized that events I was adding from my phone were not syncing to the google calendar when I access it on a different device, and vice versa, events added on other devices to the google calendar are not showing up on the phone. I confirmed that the default calendar on my phone is set to my gmail account and the events say they are being added to that account. Today I noticed it again and see that on the Calendar iOS app if I hit calendars it says "unable to connect".

I found on a different forum that I should check Settings > Accounts & Passwords > Gmail and in there I saw that it was having trouble connecting, I was able to reenter the password, and now everything works. Hope this helps you.
