Apple Pay Isn’t Working

I have loaded debit cards in Apple Pay, but it does not work at any retailer (have tried about 8 different places). I have tried deleting the cards and re- adding them. I have also tried using different cards.

When I open wallet (from double clicking home button) it says ‘ready for Apple Pay) I add my thumb print, hold to the card reader and NOTHING. It is the craziest thing! I have searched online for potential solutions and tried them (deleting cards, etc).

Anyone have suggestions? I am so frustrated! TIA!!

It may help to check that you are following all of the instructions here, including as demonstrated in the linked demo video in the second article:

Note that, when paying via Apple Pay in a store, if you are prompted to choose between Debit and Credit on the payment terminal, you should always choose Credit, even when you are actually using a debit card via Apple Pay.

If the issue persists, then I suggest that you contact Apple Support (remote diagnostics and/or mail-in service may be available), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider for assistance - for an iPhone, for example:
