suddenly lost Japanese keyboards
Earlier this morning, I tried to switch input methods to a Japanese one, and found that all the JA ones are no longer available for selection via the menu bar input selection widget.
Went back to System Preferences and no Japanese keyboards were enable for adding. The "Language and Region" still has Japanese as a preferred language.
I have restored the com.apple.HIToolbox.plist from TimeMachine, and verify that the Kotoeri input methods are there in the "AppleEnabledInputSources". Rebooted. Still nothing there other than ABC-Extended when I click on the menu widget.
I have removed Japanese from the Language&Region, and re-added it. Nothing seems to fix it.
I can log in as my admin user, and verify that the input methods do show up, just not for the main user: me.
No updates were installed prior to the keyboards going missing. Installed the most recent 10.13.2, and that did not rectify the issue.
No, I do not run any "fix-it" software. The only unusual thing which happened was I filled my disc up with iTunes downloads.
Suggestions?
