Charging with cube but not Mac

Howdy,

Recently, I noticed that my iPhone only charges with the cube or some other direct USB connection to power. It will not charge when connected to my Mac, my Honda, a Dell from work, and it won't connect to my FLIR infrared camera (a real bummer tonight, as I live in Houston and wanted to check out my house amidst all this icy rain).

Is there a hardware problem? A software problem?

I just did a hard reset, and plugging the lightning cable into my Mac and my phone will start the phone, but then once the phone boots it will not charge, mount on the Mac, or anything like that.

Yes sir. Two different ones, and I just verified that my wife's 6S would sync with the cable/computer combination. I just plugged/unplugged about 5 times, and one time I got the lightning bolt, but as I sit, it won't charge or sync.

I would say it's simply a damaged connector, but darn it's odd that it works with the cube.

Here's an interesting twist. I have an old Windows PC in the garage that I do not use frequently. Hence, iTunes is not updated. 12.7.0.166. It will sync with my iPhone! Any ideas as to why that may be?

If I charge it with the cube, it will hold a charge for most of the day. Does the fact that it won't charge with a USB connected to a PC mean the battery is near EOL?
