My iPad Pro is not recognizing my Smart Keyboard, and I don’t know why, but I think it was after a software update from my iPad

Hi. Are you connecting the Smart Keyboard to the iPad Pro using the 3 dots connector on the edge of the iPad? I'm just asking because your question was about "pairing", and you came from a Bluetooth help page, but the Smart Keyboard does not use Bluetooth.
