Started replying in the other thread (longer reply) and then saw this post with the log

What it looks like is that the transition is causing DVD SP to throw the error - try deleting MPEG/PAR files and also switch from hardware to software encoding to see if it helps. Have you tried removing the transition and see if it builds.

Did the same project build before, or were these three seperate projects? (If it is the same project, in the future as an FYI, all you need to do is Build once from DVD SP and then just Format (burn) DVDs from the Build folder. )

Did something change in the project - if the same project built before and you made no changes to it, it would seem somehting became corrupted - you can also try to repair permissions and delete DVD SP prefs.

Also if you have three successful builds, you can use them to burn other copies if need be.

Follow the steps here http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/image_to_diskstone.html to create a disc image from the DVD you were able to burn and use that to burn more copies as set forth in that link (Proof the .img file in the Apple DVD Player to make sure it transferred okay)

Thanks for answering so quickly. Yes, its been burning quite well. Burned 6 copies the other day and then 4 more before the error popped up. I will blow out the PAR files as there are some. Also, the only place I have located the preference files for this application are in my user files in library, preferences. Is this the corrrect preferences? Have not made any changes other than a new audio track on a video where I increased the volume.

Is the audio in the areas where the error is occurring? Could be the issue - did you make it an AC3 file? If it is a non-AC3 file and right in the area where the error occurs, I would look there first.

Prefs are USER->LIBRARY-PREFS->com.apple.dvdstudiopro.plist

Actuallly kind of slow replying today, for some reasons the Apple Boards are being problematic in accessing today for me 🙂

Regarding the error, would it not have made sense that it would have errored on the first disk instead of buring it? According to the log, its erroring on a transition.

Found the pref file and will delete. Am on the road presently so when I get home tonight, I will be able to try out the system. I hope it works as this project has become rather long in the tooth. But if this come out good, it could mean a race season worth of business for me.

Yup, it would seem that if it worked once, it should continue, but things can get corrupted. As to the transition, it could be the encoding is doing something off (maybe a spike in encoding level) and if the audio was used right in that area (meaning the transition is from the menu with new audio or into a track that has the audio) the audio could also be contributing more. Bit rate spikes are one of the things that lead to compiler errors, especially if you did not use an AC3 file for the audio and the problem area is otherwise close to the new audio file, so that is one of the things I would check first at this point, may save some hunting around for other issues.

Take a look here

http://dvdstepbystep.com/layofland.php

There is a a blue section and a green section towards the upper left, if you follow accross between them to the right (almost exactly under the sixth icon in from the left in the red section) you will see a button that will toggle the view to VTS

As to AC3 and Compressor, go down to step 4 in the following

There is also a movie with details at the bottom of the page (click the link) about 1 minute into the movie is Compressor
