Darwin Kernel Version 10.8.0

I get this kernel attack everytime I boot my compute. I have the Mac OS X SL disc but when I try to load that I don't get past the apple logo.

I may have updated it to 10.6.8 before this happene... any help would be appreciated

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Hi,

Read this. Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck - Apple Support


It suggests Try Safe Mode

Then Try Disk Utility and explains how to access both


If these don't work it tell you how fsck might help.
