How to get rid of log.txt file on desktop?

Running 10.11.6 on my early 2009 iMac. A file named "log.text" is repeatedly generated on the desktop from somewhere after I delete it. Checking info gives me no clues. As a non-programmer, I'd really appreciate some guidance of how to get rid of this for good. Thanks, thanks and ever thanks!

One of your log items says it is running pronto - by chance did you install Pronto Video Converter? It is an adware app that might be creating the problem. You can google how to remove Mac Pronto Video Converter and see if that is causing your problem.


You might also check to see what apps are running and check their preferences to see if they are creating the log file on your desktop. You can check what apps are created on startup by going to Apple Icon > System Prefs > Users & Groups > and then check your profile for the login items to see if one of these are the culprit (assuming it recreates this file each time).
