want to know the cpu architecture and number of sockets info

I'm interested in info about cpu architecture and number of sockets on my Mac.

For linux, command like lscpu shows detailed info about the system including cpu architecture and number of sockets. Are there any terminal commands for that purpose? Or GUI operation on Mac has the ones?

Hello Flanklylm,

Usually that kind of information isn't such a big deal on Macs. There is an infinite variety of hardware configurations that can run Linux. On the Mac, I think there are about 3. The tools I use are sysctl and system_profiler. There could be others. You might try looking in BSD circles because the Mac is much more similar to BSD than Linux.

If you are familiar with Linux just boot a live image & use lscpu. Ubuntu should work OK, use Etcher to write to a bootable USB disk (that will be erased).

You may want to explain your overall aim - it seems like you are hoping to optimise SQL server or something? I assume you are trying to test websites locally on the Mac, in which case you may be better off on forums dedicated to that (support pages on MAMP, XAMP or MySQL.com etc).
