Can I combine Mac offers?

I’m currently a full time college student and would thusly qualify for the education pricing available for Mac computers however, I’d like to know if I could combine this offer and the ~$200 I’d receive in trade-in value for my 2011 MacBook Pro or if I have to choose one offer or the other.

In the past, Apple has never allowed one to take advantage of more than one discount. I know you can receive a gift card for your trade-in (Mac Trade-up - Apple.) I assume you could then put it toward your purchase of a new computer regardless of whether it is through the academic discount. Ask at your local Apple Store where you will purchase the computer.
