squared sign on keyboard?

squared and cubed sign on keyboard? whats the short cut in plain english please

Hi Nick,


Squared is just a superscript 2, cubed is a superscript 3 Sample: 33 22

Type the number, then the power. Select the power and go to the menu entry shown in the image below.

Ready to format the 'power of 4' symbol.


Square root is option-v ( √ ).

Cube root is the root sign with a superscript 3 imposed on it. ( ∛ ) Not available from the keyboard, but you can drag it in from the Character Viewer, now called Emoji and Symbols.

And what version of Pages are you talking about in plain English please?


Select a 2 or a 3 or any numbers > Menu > Format > Font > > Baseline > Superscript


If you look next to that the keyboard shortcut is control command shift +

The shift is in there because the + is on the Upper Case. It toggles on or off.

Depending on what version of Pages there are other places to set this.
