Well... I didn’t know about that. I was trying to look for a solution and couldn’t find one. So I posted it when I figured out myself. Just trying to be helpful if anyone else is still looking for the solution. No harm done.

I’ve got this exact same problem. After quite a few attempts I was actually able to screen shot it. All of my apps were closed (and I know for a fact the screen recording was not currently on)and this was taken when I swiped down from the top to open the notification screen and it only stays on the screen for a split second.
But it’s not. And to test it just to make sure I started to screen record and then stopped and it was no longer recording anymore and yet when I still swipe down to show the notification screen that red line pops up for another split second and then goes away.
It’s not me recording the screen, so if it’s not me recording then who is? I’ve closed all apps made sure it’s not doing a screen recording and have reset my phone only to still have this problem.
No no, that’s the line we’re (or at least I am) talking about. Nothing was being recorded when that screenshot was taken. That is an old notification I hadn’t cleared. The red line that you can see. literally appears when you pull down the notifications/lock screen.
go to settings>general>reset>reset all settings. This does NOT delete any info. If this does not work, make a full back up and restore to factory conditions and set up as new. Do not restore the backup because it could be corrupted (not hacked or virus)
I had this same problem, however, I found that by holding your home and sleep button for about five seconds(until your screen goes black) will make it go away.
Doing this will just cause a reset and everything on your phone will be the same once your phone automatically turns back on.
It happens when you close an app right? It just means that that app is still running in the background. You can go to the apps settings and choose what app or apps you want to continue running in the background when you exit them. 50% sure 🏻♂🙂
Hey... I recently had the same issue and managed to solve by restarting the iPhone (press and hold power button and home button simultaneously). The red status bar was disappeared totally. I’m using iPhone 6s.
Can you post a screenshot?
I’ll try now
I’m unable, sorry.
Open your control center and stop the screen recording.
Why is there a red bar at the top of my phone screen?
