JumpStart 3rd grade not running correctly in "Classic"

I've been trying to run my CD of JumpStart 3rd Grade on my iMac G5 for my little brother, and everything seemed to be working ok originally..

But when a character in the game; Botley, began speaking, it became apparent that something was wrong with Classic. His voice was slow and deep, resembling that of a person talking with food in their mouth...

I think that there is a lag in audio for the game, because the characters mouth stops moving a few seconds before Botley stops talking.

How can I fix this? I changed processor performance to all different settings and it still did not resolve the issue.

Thanks in advanced, Alex.

You may not have a "fix".

When older games, such as the one you have, are played when booted into a "classic" OS (OS 9 & below), the game software controls certain aspects of the computer hardware operation (like it resets colors to 256 & sometimes screen resolution to a lower value). However, when operating in classic while booted in OS X, these hardware operations are not automatically implemented, resulting in no or degraded play of the game software. You might experiment with setting the colors to 256 and/or screen resolution before you start up the game.

 Cheers, Tom
