How to confirm virus on iPad

My wife visited specific website on our iPad Air v11.2.1 and received message that the iPad had been infected with 6 viruses which may infect other devices. She closed message and shut device down. How can I determine if the iPad has in fact been infected.

If this was an email, it is also to be ignored. Regardless of how this message appeared, it's a flat out lie. Unless you've jailbroken the device, it is just short of impossible to infect an iOS device.
