Music is stopping when opening some apps. Did not have this problem before the iOS 11 update.

Before updating to iOS 11 I could listen to music and open any app with the music still playing. By pressing the volume in the app this would stop the music. Now, after the update, the music stops automatically in some apps. Is there anyway for the music app to go back to how it was before the update?
