Is this patch still effective in OS X 10.13.2?

Will this patch fix a similar issue I found in MacOS 10.13.2?

I can make the connectivity disappear by mounting any shared drive partition on my desktop. Specifically, here is a screenshot before the drive share was mounted and a screen shot after the share window is reopened. The is an example of how the share controls are affected.

I will apply the suggestions and post here about how they are affecting this apparently new problem.

Yippee! The patch worked. Now, shared devices on the network no longer disappear when a shared drive drive is mounted. I can't figure out the patch details on adjustment provided, but suffice it to say that it works great.
