High Sierra upgrade keeps my fans on high

Using Activity monitor I can see I have a process called 'bird' that is forcing the CPU to work at 135%. this is crazy. IS this another bug in sierra? I can't kill it because it starts over almost immediately. Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 11.2.2

Since High Sierra pretty much forces you to enable iCloud before you complete the installation I have a feeling that is trying to back everything up over wi-fi....makes no sense...I have 200GB of data. There should be more warnings from Apple before setting iCloud as part of the installation.
