Safari can't connect to the server "localhost"

Hi all,

We are having an issue connecting to localhost. We use Sony Content Manager software to archive video to optical disks and it uses Safari by default (or any web browser) to run. Since this issue came along, we've been unable to open this software and archive our projects.

When trying to open the software, we get this message within Safari:

Safari Can't Connect to the Server. Safari can't open the page "localhost:8080" because Safari can't connect to the server "localhost".

What we have tried:

Changing default web browsers to Firefox and Chrome: Similar errors.

Check Apache is up to date and running: Yes. Server version: Apache/2.4.18 (Unix)

Reinstalling Sony Content Manager: Fails to install in last seconds of install, however remains in applications as available software.

We are running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4

Any ideas what to try next? Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Rowbo

Hi,

Instead of localhost:8080, try 127.0.0.1:8080 which could works.
