Apps updating without permission

Apps on my iPad Air keep updating without permission. I have turned off auto updates individually for each app, I have turned off Background App Refresh. I have turned off updates in iTunes & App Store. Anyone have a solution? Since my last update, my ipad needs to be constantly plugged in. I’m trying to find out why. Any other suggestions. Why does my Ipad need to be recharged after an hours use?

Hi. First, the only setting that affects app program updates is the one in iTunes & App Store. The other update settings affect data only. Another user reported this as well. Apple recently changed the encryption certificate for apps, requiring "false" updates of apps still using older certificates. That may be what you're seeing.

It's hard to believe that your iPad battery only lasts an hour. But, the first step is to look at Settings > Battery to see which apps are the heaviest users. Tap on the clock icon to see any background usage as well.

Please identify your iOS version, Settings > General > About > Version.

9:07 to 10:46 to kill the battery on my ipad. I wasn’t doing anything on the ipad like watching Netflix etc. If I do anything, the battery dies much faster. This has been a problem since the last update. My ipad now travels with an extension cord when I move around the house so that I can plug it in where ever I go.

And some of my apps still say they are updating daily on their own. So you are suggesting they aren’t really updating? The reason I looked into the issue at all was because I opened my ipad and saw the icon doing it’s updating thing even though everything allowing updates had been shut off.
