MacBook Pro 2015 overheating

Hi I have a MacBook Pro 2015 2.7ghz I5. I edit videos on Adobe premiere pro. My apple care recently expired and due to past encounters with the Genius Bar I would prefer not to go there anyways(went back about 3 times and phoned their phone support twice all for the same issue yet never resolved) While editing I have about 10-15 minutes of editing time before my computer gets very hot but only by the top of the keyboard area. You can hear my fan very loud but it doesn't seem to be helping at all. The laptop is about 2 inches off whatever surface I edit on(usually a desk) on a cooling pad equipped with 2 fans and yet it still over heats in about the same amount of time. I haven't used near half the storage on my computer either. Is there something wrong with the fan or is my laptop just not capable of handling video editing (which I assume it should since its the pro) nobody I know seems to be having the same issue. option to upgrade the fan?
