Tags on a Synology Network drives

Can anyone help mee.

We store files on a Synology NAS network drive. Wenn we tag a PDF file on the synology the edit date changes.

Can anyone help me to turn this off.

Are you accessing the Synology via AFP file manager or a web client?

Check to make sure you are running the latest Synology updates. Try locking the file. Try accessing it from a PC or a web interface and verify the problem is with the way the Mac touches the file and wants to modify the touched date.

I am behind on my DiskStation Manager updates, but with 5.2-5967 update 1, I can tag a file on an AFP mounted share without change to any date/time stamp of the file apparent from Finder, or the Terminal using mdls.

That share is mounted to an OS X 10.11.6 machine with all Security updates applied.

Using the same share and document mounted to High Sierra 10.13.3, I also saw no change in any times when adding or removing a tag.
