I have an iPhone I use for business only. When I set it up, I used my work email instead of an iCloud email. If I want to use iCloud backup on this phone, do I have to use an iCloud email address? Or will it work with my business email?
iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11.2.5
I'm not really sure. It was handed to me already active, with my work email on the settings screen. But now I'm supposed to be upgrading to an X and one of the things I've been told is if I don't backup to iCloud my stuff will not transfer (contacts, etc)
What you need is an iCloud account, the email can be anything.
so if I select to turn iCloud backup on, it will guide me through that? Sorry, I know I sound really stupid. I've been an android kid FOREVER 🙂
Do you have an iCloud account? If you do are you signed into it on your iPhone?
Open your iPhone, go to settings and see what it says about iCloud, if your name appears you are signed in to an iCloud account.
