What happend to the itunes flac support?

I was able to import my entire flac music to itunes the version released around iphone 8 release date since they said the 8 and X is going to support the flac playback. But after I updated to the newer ver I can not longer import flac musics. Anyone here knows which itunes ver was it? Let me know and Thanks!

Hi, I'm so sure man! Because there were few songs I only have the Flac file. And my music file is mixed with mp3 and flac. When I import the music to itunes, I just import entire music file to the itunes and sync to my iphone 6s plus. And I was able to find those new added musics on my iphone 6s and those were the flac musics!

I can't comment on what you think happened, but as tt2 and ed2345 have said, iTunes has never supported FLAC encoding. There have been third party plugins that offered partial support, but since iTunes handles two functionally equivalent formats (ALAC and AIFF), and there is widespread - if erroneous - association in the music industry between FLAC and illicit peer-to-peer sharing, it is highly probable that iTunes never will support FLAC.
