ios 11.2.5 battery life...
Since upgrading to 11.2, battery life on my iPhone has been horrible. Any suggestions? I have background refresh turned off. I've never had it on.
My iPad is suffering from the same experience.

I'm saying you want to do a clean install. That would be restoring. You'd just reinstall the current version. iTunes will do that. Back it up first so you can restore to your back up data/apps.
If you've never done it, feel uncomfortable installing operating systems and live near an Apple Store, I'd take it there and have them do it. You'll have to make an appointment.
I have had a similar experience with iOS 11.2.5. My usage and standby times were the same for several days. I found my battery capacity was fine after running a diagnostic, which meant it was a software bug. I deleted Instagram and Facebook, the two apps using the most battery (around 1% each per minute of screen time!!) then restored my phone as new using a recent backup. Seems to be working fine now. Standby is a 3 hours usage at 7 min and 100% battery.
You shouldn't have to restore to a previous iOS. I did a clean install of 11.2.5, and it's worked. There is obviously something in the update deltas that cause battery issues. If you need help on how to do that, there is a lot of material on putting your phone in DFU mode.
You can do it through iTunes too pretty easily.
I reinstalled iOS 2.5 cleanly, and it appears to have made a difference. Make sure you back up your phone first before you do it.
iCloud backup, wipe device and restore seemed to work for me. It took a day or 2 after that until my battery life was back to normal. iCloud restore was running in the background. Battery life went back to normal after the restore gave me an error it was unable to restore all the photos 2 days later. But as far as I can tell, they are all there.
I have the same problem. Doing a fresh install does not work for me.
When I look at the "Time Since Last Full Charge" in Settings > Battery I notice that my Usage and Standy are almost the same: 9h00 and 9h02 where I would expect Usage time to be much less. 9h02 is around the time that has passed since I unplugged the phone from the charger. It seems that the phone just does not go into Idle mode. Standby time is defined as idle + usage time.
Weirdly my battery life has improved after this update. Something worth trying before a full wipe and clean install, try "reset all settings". I have no idea why but this often fixes performance and battery issues for me on a range of ios devices. Also means you don't lose content. You will need to input passwords and wifi bindings again though.
I'm seeing the same thing. Upgraded to 11.2.5 and I've been losing 7-10% of battery life per hour. I have always had Background App Refresh turned off, location turned off on the majority of all apps, got rid of some of my widgets, did a iCloud backup, reset and restore. My % will sometimes not move for awhile, then fall rapidly. Phone sat overnight and didn't lose a single % in 5-6 hours. I have an iPhone 6S with a battery that was just replaced in June of 2017, so it's only 7 months old.
I’ve done everything I possibly can to eliminate anything else but the update as the culprit. I’ve done restore to previous back ups (unfortunately it keeps the new version of the iOS 11.5.2). I have even restored the phone to a brand new phone setting. Even with no apps installed, the battery drains fast. With no phone use at all, I’m now still loosing 25% in 40 minutes. It is horrendous.

I’m having a similar issue since updating to iOS 11.2.5 this morning. I’m watching my battery drain at an alarming rate (over 1% per min). I’ve turned off everything too. I can’t even restore to previous ios and it is a right mess.
Same here, since I updated to iOS 11.2.5 I can literally see the procentage indicator counting down. Usually the phone stayed on 100 percent up to 25-30 minutes of usage after the phone got fully charged and did so until I updated.
Background updates is turned off, as well as background gps location services on. Display background light is on a low level. Generally I didn’t change any settings either after updating, but I lost 11 percent battery capacity within 30 minutes after the device was fully charged.
I’ve had the same issue since updating to 11.2.5, battery drains faster than my bathtub. Never in the time I’ve had the phone (iPhone 7 plus) had an issue with battery life, this last update murdered my battery life. It’s drained almost 15% writing this response. I could go half hour to 45 minutes before dropping 1%, now 30 seconds on screen and the battery is dropping rapidly. This is Apple doing this, not the battery wasting away. Nothing running in background and refresh is turned off. Apple needs to fix this ASAP.
Very much
How do you reinstall the iOS without restoring?
