I just completed an software update; macOS High Sierra 10.13.3. I use Google ighome as my homepage. The page will no longer search an address. Any assistance is appreciated.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12.3)

Cannot change Search engine in Safari on MacBook Pro I keep changing my search engine to google on safari on my MacBook Pro M1 updated to Monterey 12.4. even switched my homepage to google but anytime I put in a search entry and hit search. It will still open via yahoo for some reason. Even tried it by going to preferences > Search > Search engine but still refuses to use anything other than Yahoo.

Default adress bar results Dear community, I can't say how long it's been exactly, but it used to be that when I typed in a site or a question or anything in the address bar, the results would show up on a Duck Duck Go page. Duck Duck Go is the search engine I want to use by default, it's also my homepage. Oddly enough though, recently, when I type anything in the address bar now all results display in Google. Does anyone know how I can change this setting? I can't figure out how. Thank you, JC

searchmarquis I'm having trouble with browsers Safari and Chrome. Every time I open the or open a tab, I am directed to a web page ***** and I don't get my "homepage". If I click on something that tries to open a page, up comes searchmarquis and I will not get the page it directed me too. I can't get rid of this menace. TotalAV doesn't find anything abnormal. A web page advises searching for it, but nothing comes up by name. I can kill ***** on my activity screen and the line "settings for searchmarquis" will disappear from my Safari pull down menu. But it will come back once I open a new tab or window in Safari. Does anyone know how to get rid of this thing? thanks don [Link Edited by Moderator]
