Dock icons keep changing into generic icon

Hello,

I have a Macbook Pro 2,6 GHz Intel Core i5 (mid 2014), MacOS High Sierra and have an issue with my MB. My dock icons keep changing into generic icon. Also when I press 'Open with' on a file it keeps fetching for a long time.

I've tried many things to fix the problem:

- Clean install (without using time machine)

- Reboot in safe mode; helps for a short while

- Reset NVRAM; helps for a short while

- Used a virus scanner; no virus

- Killall dock

Nothing seems to solve my problem. This keeps me thinking it's probably a hardware problem, but I don't experience any other issue with my MB. Does anyone else experience this and knows how to fix it?

Uninstall the Anti-Virus as per the developer's it will only make things worse.

Rebuild the Launch Services database:

Launch Terminal

Triple click anywhere on the following line to copy entire line then at the prompt copy & paste this command:

Then press return. Wait for the cursor to return to the command line.

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain u -domain s -domain l -v

I've seen this happen to several MacBook Pros in my office the last day or two. There must be something from Apple causing this.

I've seen the issue on several laptops that don't have League of Legends (or any other games) installed.

I have found the problem that is causing this. It has something to do with the League of Legends client. In this threadyou will find more people experiencing the same issue. The command line posted by macjack worked, but as soon as the League of Legends client updates, the problem occurred again. So basically, I have to uninstall League of Legends or use the command line every time LoL updates or just wait for Riot to come with a fix.
