My MacBook Pro 13 inch 2016 inboard keyboard and trackpad stopped working after I closed the screen?

I have a Macbook pro 2016 13 inch with touchbar.

I have 16gb RAM, 256gb ssd, intel core i5 3,1ghz.


Sometimes when I wake up the next morning and want to use the macbook pro, the Keyboard and trackpad stopped working. After I restarted the MacBook everything works fine.

Can someone please help me, it is really irritating?

Have you tried to reset the NVRAM?

My 2016 13" MBPTB started doing this (trackpad issue) with a beta of HS 10.13.3. I reported the bug but it is still there in the release version of 10.13.3.


A 3-finger tap/touch reliably returns the trackpad to normal function.


Apple Support advised me to send the MBP for repair, which I did. They replaced the top case and battery but that DID NOT cure the issue.
