Ipad air —BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Battery is not holding charge. If I send it in for replacement:

I have a gold Ipad air WIFI, will I get the same model and color back?

Will it have current IOS SW?

Will the replacement come with any guarantee?

iPad Air Wi-Fi, iOS 11.0.1

For just a battery replacement you usually get the same iPad back, if they do replace the whole iPad it should be the same spec (model , storage, colour), and is likely to have an up-to-date iOS version on it. Warranty is 90 days (or, if longer, the remaining term of any existing warranty)

Do they still just replace the whole thing like with the original iPad?

At the very least I'd recommend backing it up before taking it to Apple for a battery replacement. They always reserve the right to replace the entire unit with an exchange of the old unit.

Their website implies they might replace the battery or the whole iPad, not sure if it depends upon the model

If your battery needs replacement, we can repair or replace your iPad for a battery service fee.

But yes, either way a backup should be taken before sending/taking it in and wipe it
