Can you update an iphone 6 with a broken screen you dont want to fix

I recently broke the screen on my iPhone 6; and it will turn on, but I am unable to control it because of the broken screen. Instead of fixing the screen I decided to update to an IPhone 8 plus. My iPhone 6 was last updated about a week ago, but I need the info from the past week. How can I update the iPhone 6 so that my IPhone 8 plus will update the last weeks information? I am unable to update through iTunes. I am hoping someone can follow this question it is very important to me, thank you.

iPhone 6, iOS 11.2.5

All you should need to do is restore the iPhone 8 Plus to a backup of the iPhone 6. Remember, that if you restore to the last backup of the iPhone 6, than anything that currently exists on the iPhone 8 Plus will be deleted. Depending on what it is that you wish to put on the iPhone 8 Plus, it may just require syncing with a particular application or turning on a cloud service.

It may help if you describe how it is that you set the iPhone 8 Plus up after you purchased it.

You mean backup.

If it/iPhone 6 and latest data wasn't backed up prior to restore, then the new data that was not backed up, cannot be restored to the new device.

You can stop the restore on the iPhone 8, backup your iPhone 6 again with the latest week's data, then restore the most recent iPhone 6 backup to the 8.

Basically, it's a personal choice....

Also, make sure iTunes is backing up what you need:
