When I open Mail preferences it opens a GIANT size window which I cannot re-size nor pull over to see the columns. Please help. I've tried deleting some signatures...

Enter in user library an article macOS Sierra: Library folder
Find a folder Containers > drag and drop the folder com.apple.mail to the desktop , restart the machine and open mail application .

That worked brilliantly - thank you so much. I just started the Mac in safe mode and the window was correct size. Then restarted it normally and it stayed right size. Not quite sure why but it worked!
See if you can resize it in the Safe Mode.

If you click and hold on the top menu bar, can you move the window?
Yes I can but I can’t drag the window smaller. And there is no green button at top left to resize.
Can you drag it enough to get to the bottom corner to resize the window?
Yes, but it won't let me re-size it. I can't 'grab' the corner, cursor doesn't change into an arrow (if that makes sense!)
