How to tell if a text was read
When I send someone a text message, how do I know if they read the message. Is there something I need to turn on for this option. Thank you

No, there is nothing you can do about the "Read" receipt. It is totally up to the intended recipient to make that visible to you.
The setting on their device is available under Settings>Messages>Send Read Receipts.
