Sirius/XM app open but not in use causes constant usage on battery indicator

So far this is the only app I have found to make usage go up even if I am not listening to it but it is open as in I have used it recently and not manually swiped it closed.

I have one day old X, i replaced it with 3 month old X that was doing the SAME thing.

I assume I will find more apps that cause this but for now, what can I try other than manually closing the app EVERY time I stop using it which for me will be 10-15 times a day?

I have turned off "background app refresh" and auto downloads.

BTW, I just returned a X to Costco because after charging with the wireless charger they sold with a bundle, my usage and standby would be the same, i.e. after 3 hours and not using the phone AT ALL the standby would say 3 hours and the usage would say 3 hours and I would notice loss of battery life.

For now, how do I stop apps that I am NOT using from causing usage?

My phone is an Iphone X

Are you using the latest version of the app? I ran into two problems with a previous version from them, the now playing screen did not change and when you stopped the app it kept using battery. The latest update has fixed both. If you are having other problems with it you need to contact them, if that is the only app that is doing it on your iPhone it is their problem.

Thanks, apple support just recommended deleting and adding app back on, phone is new as of yesterday so dont know if when the app was installed from my old phone it updated or not.

I will delete and reinstall , does that guarantee I will get the latest version of the app?

Do you know what version you have, where would I find it on mine?
