wont stay in full screen

while using Netflix or YouTube and running a video the screen will not stay in full screen mode unless my cursor is over the play button. If I take it off moments later my screen goes dark and I'm back at the sign in for my computor

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

I am facing quick time full screen issue while playing video in player attached is the screen shot plz take a look and help.


video is stuck outside the red lines and between red lines its playing normally but cutting off the parts of video. as you can see. it happens when you select full screen from button below


it turns back on full screen mod if i move cursor but after few seconds it stuck back again.


its only happening in quick time player ..online players youtube Netflix is working fine

*red bar added to identify the area not part of glitch

Not sure whether or not your issue is the same as that of the original poster here since he indicated use of a MacBook Air operating under El Capitan. If you check some of the other posts by MacBook Pro users, you will note a pattern appears to be developing. I suspect there is some sort of a conflict at work between certain MacBook Pro video cards and macOS High Sierra/QTX Player app. It seems 2017 systems have a "scrambled" display (diagonal lines) while you, if I understand correctly, seem to be switching from "fit" viewing to "Fill" viewing when the "controls" disappear while in the "Full-Screen" mode and older MacBook Pro users switch from "Fill" viewing to "Panoramic" viewing when the "controls" disappear in the "Full-Screen" mode. I expect this is a problem that will have to be addressed by Apple, so you may want to post a "bug" report detailing your issue.
