Hei i_rina,

thank you for your reply.

but it was unsuccessful unfortunately

- i had no iTunes movies downloaded to the macbook but usually play from the cloud. for the sake of testing, I downloaded one to the hard drive, tested, did not work, deleted, restarted, force quit, shift-start, without changing the problem.

- youtube movies and others from webpages play great

- the iTunes videos show a greenish screen with flickers as if the movies run, in patches in upper or lower areas.

- tried to take a screen picture, but although when taking it from iTunes screen, it then shows as a black picture.

User uploaded file

- took a picture with my iPhone which shows the real looks:

any further suggestions?

thanks a lot

Hi ma.se.,

It appears that you are having issues with playing movies that you purchases in iTunes. What I'd like to have you do is to force quit iTunes and then restart your MacBook Pro.

How to force an app to quit

How to turn your Mac on or off

Once your MacBook Pro has booted up, please hold the shift key down while launching iTunes. Then test the movies again.

If you still have issues, please delete one of the movies that you have purchased and then download it again and test to see if you are able to play it without issue.

Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books from the iTunes Store, iBooks Store, and App Store

Let me know how things go.

Warm Regards.

Thanks for completing those steps and getting back to us, Martin. What I'd like to have you do is to reinstall iTunes.

macOS Sierra: Reinstall apps that came with your Mac

To reinstall iTunes, download it from Apple Downloads.

Then test and see if it plays with the green screen.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks for reinstalling iTunes, Martin. What I'd like to have you do next is to test this in safe mode. Boot to safe mode, check out iTunes and then restart your Mac and load into your user account and test again. If you are still having issues, then try testing this in a new user account.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

Hi Joseph,

sorry took a while until I was able to do what you suggested. unfortunately still not successful. booted in safe mode, logged out of my iTunes account, restarted the macbook, and logged into iTunes again.

I did then create a new test-user account on my macbook, logged into it, logged from the new account into my iTunes account, and started a purchased movie.

same results. green screen

any further suggestions?

thanks....
