Alert Sounds when typing on Keyboard

My 15" Powerbook will play a sound effect (alert sound) when I press certain keys on the keyboard. The delete key and command key and option key cause the "funk" sound effect almost everytime I press them.

Any ideas?

15" Powerbook, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Check your Universal Access settings in System Preferences? There are settings to make sounds for certain keystrokes.

Hmm. Universal access is all turned off..... Weird.

as a guess, maybe check in Accounts preference pane for Login Items, see what applications loaded on startup.
