Sharing Playlists

Trying Apple Music to compare to Spotify and I have a question about sharing playlists. Can you share a playlist from Apple Music with folks that don't use Apple Music and they hear the entire song(s) not just a sample? If yes, how is this done because I have not been successful in doing so.

I was able to chat with an Apple Support person and after quite a bit of back and forth trying to get them to understand my question, the final answer is.....

Unlike Spotify where you can create and share playlists with pretty much anyone who has a Spotify account, paid or unpaid, Apple Music will only let you share with other Apple Music subscribers.

This may not be news to some, but I either missed these details somewhere along the way or they are just not written down anywhere. Nevertheless, staying with Spotify.

As I stated in my response on February 8th: Well, yes, they would have to be subscribers to Apple Music in order to be able to access the playlists. Otherwise, it would be the equivalent of providing free access to everything in iTunes to virtually anyone.

Cheers,

Thanks for posting back the additional steps that were required. I agree that all of the required steps should be in the support article. Or at least a statement indicating the additional settings that are needed.

Best of luck,

I appreciate your additional reply. The problem was that button was not showing. After additional searching I found that you have to enable that feature under the For You icon and then go into your Profile and then click Edit and then choose to allow your Activity to be followed...which was not mentioned in the article at all. I am sure that it is somewhere in the information on setting up your Apple Music initially.

Now that I have done all of the above, guess what...nothing. People I have shared my playlist with this feature enabled are still unable to listen without signing up for an Apple Music account.
