AirPrint

Why can't we print in draft mode on an AirPrint Printer?

Canon says that Apple didn't provide drivers for my model TS6120. Other Canon models have drivers.

Help.

Thanks.

I understand.

These days I would absolutely rule out anything that is not AirPrint-capable though. Apple has effectively abandoned support for anything else. There is no reason printer manufacturers could not implement a draft option in their AirPrint-capable printers. I just don't happen to know of any that do. It doesn't mean they don't exist.

If it's that important for you, why not contact the major printer manufacturers and ask. If they don't respond, are not interested, don't know what you're talking about, or otherwise aren't interested in your business just move on to another manufacturer.

Since Apple left the business printer manufacturers have successfully competed with one another in a race to the bottom, so the all popular choices amount to junk and more junk.

For what it's worth I have had good success with Brother's line of printers and MFDs, but I don't happen to know of any that have a draft printing option.

Thanks, John, I understand that.

I want to be able to print in the draft mode like I was always able to before.

I am told that it is impossible with AirPrint.

So AirPrint is not good for me. I want options.

It seems I need a printer with drivers available, so I have the options I need.

I have heard and seen references to CUPS drivers and am hesitant to get something 3rd party.

Wonder what other Mac users are doing about this.
