Can an air miles card that has been added to Apple wallet be scanned by customer or does phone have to be handed to clerk to be scan? I am using this in Canada.Thank you

I guess that would depend on the store where you are using it. If they have a place where you can hold your phone up to a scanner then you would be able to do it yourself. If a number has to be typed in or the scanner is behind the counter then you may have to hand it over to them.
With Apple Pay you simply hold the iPhone near the reader and then use Touch ID, Face ID or your passcode to authorize the payment. You won't need to hand your phone to the clerk. Apple Pay will only work where mobile payments are accepted.
I may not have been clear in my question and do appreciate your reply; however i know how to use to authorize payment .
My question is re rewards card that i have added to my Apple Wallet such as Air Miles and if they can be scanned by user or does phone have to be handed to clerk to scan?
