High Sierra 10.13.3 and MS Outlook 16.9

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro, and I have Mac OS High Sierra v. 10.13.3, and there are no available updates.


I use MS Office 365, and downloaded the current suite (v. 16.9). All of the applications work fine with the exception of Outlook, which won't even open. The icon bounces for a few seconds, then flashes like it is going to open, then disappears and nothing happens.


I have tried deleting and reinstalling the Office suite to no avail. There are no available updates to the Office software.


I have seen the earlier posts that Office 15.35 and later is compatible with High Sierra, but that is clearly not the case in my experience.


Any suggestions?
