I dropped my phone however the Repairs and Service Coverage is Active and i would like to know if the fee for getting it fixed by apple would be free.

No. A cracked or broken screen is considered accidental damage or abuse, which is not covered under the warranty.
Like most any warranty on most any product, damage is not covered.
If you have Applecare+, then they will repair for a predetermined fee.
Otherwise , you would pay full price for the repair
There was an AppleCare then an AppleCare+ reduced fee for accidental glass damage. That's about it if you dropped it.
About the only thing that Apple might replace under warranty or AppleCare/AppleCare+ is a small defect that leads to a single crack without any signs of impact. It would need to have no glass splinters that have separated from the glass.
