On iPad says media is using up most of my space?? Where can I find it??

I’m in charge of my wife’s iPad. Version 11.2.5. She wants to know why the media is taking up at the least, 25% of the 32GB of space available??? She has under 1000 photos in “photo stream” not “camera roll” and the storage for her photos is only 928.1 MB??? She only has 10 apps, none using over 1 GB? So what’s taking up all the space? How can I delete some of media?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 11.2.5

TallHelmet,

Go to Settings > General > iPad Storage to see the apps that are consuming your storage. Then delete apps or data as needed to free up storage. Note: many podcasts and videos can be downloaded again if you wish to view them in the future. Completing this task may free up enough local storage to solve your problem.

Note: deleted photos are not necessarily deleted. You may have to go to Photos > Albums > Recently Deleted and delete them from there to truly free up storage.

Good luck.
