Personal requests not working on my HomePod

I have followed all of the instructions to set up Personal Requests on my HomePod, but I keep getting something to the effect of, the iOS device is not connected to the network. Anybody have this issue and figure out what is wrong?

HomePod, iOS 11.2.5

Make sure your iOS device and HomePod is connected to same Wifi network. If they are on same wifi network then try disabling personal requests and then enable it once again.


If still its not working then reset homePod and setup again.
