I cant change the face of my apple watch

Question

I just updated my apple watch (got series 1, sport) and everytime I wanna put picture as my background it won’t let me and apple watch just turns off, I tried to change it in the apple watch app , as it’s connected to my phone, but it won’t let me either. I also can’t add new backgrounds on it, If i’ll do it on my phone it’s not working either, I’ve tried to turn it off and on but it’s not helping! I’ve deleted the backgrounds i didn’t like , but everytime it turns on they come back! Please help me, as i don’t know what to do, it’s also lagging badly everytime i go on it!
