script to enter sort field data

I'm looking for a way to automatically enter Sort Name, Sort Album, and perhaps Sort Artist information. (The user would need to select the songs with names that need to be swapped such as Elton John to John, Elton.) Doug's Applescripts for iTunes doesn't have such scripts. I want the script to copy the song Name, strip off leading "A ", "An ", and "The " words, and paste the modified name into the Sort Name field. I could write such a program, but I don't have the patience. (Filling sort fields manually would take less time.) Is there a program that will do what I want?

There's a bunch of scripts on the Dougscripts web site. Many of them have been upgraded to apps and unfortunately lost the ability to be editable. I have a number of old ones I have modified (open license) for my own purposes such as adding fields that were not in the original script. Maybe some are still there as actual scripts you can open and modify but many of the old versions are no longer up there and you're just left with an app which can't be modified. You may end up having to use several apps to do what you want.
