Does the 24/48 hour rental period take into consideration the 30-day expiry date?

Hello,

I rented a movie about a month ago. I still had about 6 hours remaining to start watching the movie before the 30-day expiry date kicked in. I started watching the movie and stopped it to go do something. The rental on my Apple TV showed that I still had 48 hours remaining to complete the movie. However, after about 5 hours, I went back to play the movie and I get a message saying something like "content not authorized". I restarted my Apple TV. Then when I went back to the "Movies" menu, the rental had completely disappeared. I logged into I-tunes and got a message saying that the rental period had expired and the movie was removed from my I-tunes account.

I'm wondering if the 30-day expiry superseded the 48-hour viewing period?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks Niel. So even when I started watching the movie and it showed that I still had 48 hours remaining, if the 48 hours fall within the 30-day expiry, then the movie is basically expired? I just thought I had 48 hours straight. I wish Apple made this distinction. I waited until the last minute because I wanted to watch the movie this weekend.

Thanks.
