I have 5c phone how do I retrieve text message?

The only way that you can get old text messages back is to restore your iphone from a back up that had those text messages. If you backed up your phone after they were deleted you are not able to get them back.

If you did an iCloud backup then you only get it back when you restore from that iCloud backup.

If you didn't delete them, they should be there.

are you talking about some third party app like WhatsApp which is owned by facebook ?
