OSX el capitan restarts in a loop if network is not available

I have an old Mac Pro early 2006. It stills working fine and little bit slow but it is not a big issue. It is used as a digital photo frame, jukebox and for another small tasks. It has OSX el Capitan.

From sometime ago I had problems with my local network so I decided to disable it on all devices (tablets, computers, TV and so on). The problem was solved and all devices had the internet back. Days later I started the Mac to use it as usual but it was something strange: it restarts 2 minutes later of a full boot and remains in a loop. I thought that it was a hardware problem. I checked the "console" for the logs and surprisingly I saw mainly that some services like AppleIDAuthagent, socialpushagent, geod, tried to connect to the internet and then the Mac restarted automatically again. It means that I forgot to enable the WIFI again after the previous troubleshoot so I decided to enable it again before the next reboot and what it very very very strange is, is that the Mac does not reboots again… it is rare! I rebooted the machine again and let it so for two days and it was working perfectly. So, I decided to disable the WIFI again and it worked yet fine. The day after I started the Mac without the WIFI and yhe reboot loop started again!!!! What is it happening??? The attached photos were just some seconds prior a reboot because the Mac freezes before that.

Try running this program in your normal user account, then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy Report” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. You can run the report for free at least once, but if you run it several times, at some point it will ask you to pay a license fee.

Etrecheck – System Information

Feb 21, 2018 12:29 PM in response to Eric Root

Hi,

Sorry about the next question but: how long will take to run the Etrecheck? Related to the previous question: How could I send you a copy/paste if the machine reboots 1 or 2 minutes after a complete start up? The only way is to run the checks with the network and it will not let us see completely the main problem. I will give it a try but I don't expect enough information if the machine does not have a problem with a enabled WIFI. I will keep you informed.

Hi Eric,

I tried to save a log before the mac reboots and it was not easy. The last log of yesterday and the first of today are here:

The only way to get the logs was when I enabled the network for a moment on a session afterwards to stop the reboots.

How can I upload the full log to this post? Because If you could check them, you will see, curiously, that a lot of software complains about the absence of the internet.

I will try the ethercheck but with the network enabled. Otherwise reboots the Mac again and again and again...

Eric,

Previously I made the installation of the Lion Mountain an check the status of the machine and it worked fine for hours withou restart. After a lot of tries and errors upgrading and installing(from scratch) to El capitan I can say "finally". And what do you think is happeing? It has yet the same behavior:

- After the first boot I was very happy and I configured the machine with my own settings (location, time, language, location services off, keyboard and so on).

- The wifi was not yet configured but enabled. So I disable it manually.

- And then... 2 minutes later.... It is automatically restarted.

- Sometimes is the machines restarted without a full boot. When the apple logo change a little bit booting the rest of OS.

- All the time is the wifi disabled and now I can not have enough time to enable it again.

It could means that el capitan has a driver problem with the wifi or maybe with something else. What could it be?
