Nano burned.

Hi everybody, yesterday I plugged my ipod nano on an USB port, then my nano started to smell like burned and after that now stop working. I tried everything, like the 5 r, hard reset, everything!! What should I do?? Am I condemned to loose my precious jewel?? In the case that my ipod got burned? There is a possible solution for that and for free?

How an expensive toy doesn't have some kind of protection against overcharged ports or something that protects this device?

If your iPod is under a year old Apple should repair it for free. If it's over a year, you're going to have to pay to have it fixed if it's even fixable, which I would doubt.

Yes it is, I entered my serial number and it says that I bought it on april 30th 2006, but I lost my receipt (proof of purchase). I hope the authorized dealer here in Paraguay do something about it.

I send my iPod to the Apple Authorized Dealer and they changed me my iPod for a new one without any problem.
