If you are looking at an older (refurbished?) iPad Pro 9.7 versus the standard 9.7 inch, 2017 iPad 5th generation.

The 2017, 5th gen iPad is, basically, based on the 1st gen iPad Air only with a faster CPU, GPU and double the RAM (2 GBs) and better rear camera spec. The screen isn’t laminated to the glass, like most previous iPad models.

The front facing FaceTime camera is the constantly used in iPads, crummy 1.2 mp resolution camera.

The Home button has 1st gen Touch ID.

It only comes in 32 GBs or 128 GBs storage models.

It's a basic 9.7 inch iPad with more upto date hardware specs, at a much cheaper price point than ANY iPad Pro model.

The 9.7 inch iPad Pro has support for the Apple Pencil, has a high quality/resolution, laminated, “tru-tone” display!

The 9.7 inch iPad Pro has slightly faster CPU and GPU, but only has 2 GBs of RAM, as well.

Has iPhone 7 quality cameras, both on the rear with a tru-tone LED flash AND a high quality front facing FaceTime camera.

iPad Pro models have 4 speaker audio system

9.7 inch iPad Pro models come in 32, 128 or 256 GBs storage capacities.

Costs for an iPad Pro are more expensive.

That's the basic short list for both models, in a nutshell.
